Before you change on the outside, you first must change on the inside. This is your perception of things, how you feel about things and others, and what you feel you can or are willing to do to achieve these actions or goals. I always found that making a list helped, as well as support from others, even one person, as in your mom, although it is not absolutely needed. Writing down ones likes and dislikes helps to get to the point of all this more quickly, rather than having it roam around in ones mind and doing nothing about it. Taking action is the key to change for anything and this doesn't mean it has to be a noticeably huge action on the outside of ones self. Changing inside first, even one thought of action will make a difference as this one little change always has a rippling affect within us, and soon you would see different things in your life changing. Getting to know ones self on the inside first, as in what your likes and dislikes are, always leads to taking action on the outside. Starting ones day on a positive note with reading a simple meditation could make for an entire new day in how one perceives something, and a change that you may welcome in coming. Remember that each day, is the first day, of the rest of your life. If you are unsure of what to do or where to begin, you can try writing down some things (anything, even just your name) with your opposite hand and see where this takes you. By doing this you are activating the opposite side of the brain which holds many ideas. Remember too that we are always changing, even if we cannot see it clearly at this moment, and if we are not moving forward, then we are moving backward. You can also go to the library or bookstore and find a book that interests and relates to you right now, which is also taking action and change. I am sure you will find whatever you are looking for. The fun is in the journey, not the destination. Whatever you do, wherever this may lead you, remember to have fun while you are experiencing new areas for your life changes. Join a gym or a group of some sort of activity, get involved in volunteer activities through your local Red Cross, YMCA or help out at an old folks home.
Imitate everything done by someone, follow exactly what he/she eat, wear, the way he/she walk, talk ... etc .... Then start your own ';type';...
if you change the energy you put into the universe then the energy you receive from the universe will also change.
Start by doing something for someone else, volunteering. This answers all your points: boredom, needing change, wanting to change your life, doing something of and on your own.

Volunteer - it could be at a school, in a home for old people or disabled, in a charity shop, or recording talking books and newspapers for the blind - anything that you can think of that appeals and that you can find locally.

This is the first thing to change. You might not need any others!! If you do, next step could be to pick an interest - as you say, activity or hobby - that you've never actually pursued. It might be walking (stay safe), swimming (find nearest pool), horse-riding (expensive), singing (join a choir) but try for one that is not solitary, but where you are doing something you enjoy with other people with the same interest .

Good luck
I used to go Ten-Pin Bowling for a few years then when my wrist hurt too much I joined a Chess club till I got beaten by an 8 year old kid and then I joined a ';learn to dance'; club. I also joined a gym, some have day rates, and worked out 3 times a week.

It's up to you on what you do. if you are athletic then basketball or tennis or squash would be the go or if you are a bit unhealthy then golf, or darts or lawn bowls.

Just go join any club, even just to try out the sport and you might like it or hate it. You will meet other people there and you will find that a few of them don't like the activity either and only go there to chat with others.
Dont distance your self from your friends unless they are not helpful. try sports and just trying anything different till you find sometining you like
