How would turning vegetarian change my life?

At the moment I eat very little meat as it is, but frankly I think the way animals are treated is a little disgusting and don't like it. NO offence to anyone who eats meat, its your choice afterall.

I was just wondergin how turning vegetarian would change my life, would I have to check every little label and what is it like ordering in restaurants? How would turning vegetarian change my life?
checking labels is a small price to pay to save lives. How would turning vegetarian change my life?
No, its really not that big of a deal, especially if you don't eat very much meat as it is. That's how I was before i became a vegetarian.

You don't really have to check every little label unless you are unsure of the products.

And at restaurants, usually you can tell if there is meat in something or not, and again, if you aren't sure, you can always ask the waitress if there is meat in whatever it is that you wanted to order.

It's really not that big of a change, but a lot of people think its a huge deal but it's really not. Good Luck with becoming a vegetarian!
I've been a vegetarian for over 10 years now and can honestly say, it's not difficult. If you already find meat nasty, you won't have a problem. Restaurants aren't tough - you'll find vegetarian options everywhere. Burger joints usually offer black bean burgers, most Mexican places offer vegetarian plates with beans, Asian food always has vegetarian options, Italian always has meat-free options such as pasta pomodoro and minestrone, etc. Just ask about soup before ordering, as many are made with chicken or beef broth. Grocery shopping is a cinch - there are many meat alternatives such as soy, seitan and quorn. Do it slowly though - if you try to give up everything at once you'll wind up craving it.

Personally, 10 years ago I was leaning toward vegetarian but had not yet given up chicken. Then I ordered a chicken sandwich and it had a huge piece of cartilage in the middle. I was disgusted and have never craved it since.

One thing that will change is that you'll find you have a lot more energy. That was the biggest change for me.
You only have to check some labels... like gelatin is a big one that's hidden everywhere. You can usually guess at most things, but lays bbq chips has chicken fat so I got a nasty surprise there...

Ordering in restaurants is only hard in places like steakhouses and stuff. There are usually some sort of vegetarian options at most restaurants. I've been a vegetarian for over 2 1/2 years now, and it's been nice. I think the hardest part is my family (esp grandmother) always telling me I should eat ';just a little fish'; or something...

Good luck!
I'm really not too sure if you'd actually save lives to be honest, if you hardly eat meat as is; it doesn't seem like cutting it out totally would change the world.

No offense, I mean it's a great thing to want to save animals, but if that's your goal i imagine volunteering at a local shelter or ASPCA would have more of an impact.

You can always vocalize your beliefs against animal cruelty, and buy free range. Put your resources into changing the system rather than subtracting yourself and pretending it doesnt exist.

Other than that, I couldnt tell you. I know veggies need to substitute the protein normally found in meat, so I hope you're a bean and nut fan!
it will give you a new world to look at.

it will speed up your matabilism, give you a better complextion, help your brain function better[if you eat the right things]

helps with depression, hair and nails and skin will look amazing[ drinking more water will also help]

but make sure your getting all the vitamins and minerals you need, thats one thing some people dont realize, vegitarian and meat eaters. but if your going to change make sure you read up on the difference between vegan and vegitarian.

vegans dont eat ANYTHING that comes from an animal.

vegitarians eat only fish[they dont consider it a meat, i dont know why], eggs, dairy. and veggies, fruits, grains, legumes, fungi, beans, rice......

their isnt anything wrong with eating meat. it just depends on how much you eat it. just because something CAN be eaten, DOESNT mean we SHOULD eat it. like shellfish/shrimp and pork[all these are meat but not food, they are the 'clean up crew' out in the world.. what ever they eat, and we eat them, its now in us. so if a little piggy just got done eating your dog, guess what? if your dog was poisoned the pig is too, pork is the leading cause of the Trichinosis which causes the brain to turn to swiss cheese[not really cheese]. its only found in pork, it occurs naturally in all pork! and you CANNOT cook it out or kill it.

nothing is wrong with things that were meant for food.

have an awesome time with your new vegitarian life!
It would be a lot of work if you wanted to go totally vegan. I'm a meat eater but my sister went 100% vegetarian for a while. She doesnt like meat and eats very little of it. if you decided to become a vegetarian you would have to take special vitamins or substitute other foods for the vitamins and stuff you lose from not eating meat.
The whole becoming a vegetarian is all a matter of what kind of vegan you want to be. Ordering in restaurants isn't a problem either, some places actually indicate which meals are ideal for vegans.

u wud save animals lives!!!!!!!! and no just simply ask in restuarants is it vegatrian??????? simply scam through labels and just no not to eat things that may contain geltain if u dont want to check labels..plus being veg is healthy............. here ujst watch this video and then think about how u are contributing to the animals!!!!!!:)

GO VEGETAIRIAN!!!!!!!(Icannot simply spell that well in to much of a rush to fix lolz good luck)
It's not difficult in most restaurants. When you're young and out with friends and they want to eat in an awful burger joint it can be hard. I'm talking about the cheap places that you can smell a mile away. But even large chains like McDonald's have veggie options so it's not so bad.

Reading labels can be kinda annoying sometimes. You soon learn what to look out for and what's veggie.

It isn't hard, so don't worry. Good luck.
As a vegetarian, you have to worry less because you're still allowed to eat dairy and eggs. This makes it easier in restaurants as well. I'm a vegan, so I can't have that stuff, and I'm still doing just fine ordering in restaurants.
being a vegan, i check every lable becuase milk is used in almost everything, but a vegetarian not so much. basically you know whether there is meat in it or not.
most restaurents have a sign where meat is present. it shouldnt change your life much
youd grow little ******* all over your body
cuz animals will bite you and give u a hard time im just guessing :)
