What does it mean to be united? We must all think the same? How does my life change when we become united?

This model reminds me of China麓s community social structure where the community is above the individual person.

USA was built on individualism and freedom like nowhere.

I don麓t think this unification model works in The US. How will my life change when we are all united?

Kinda dangerous to have a whole country going in one direction following a leader...makes the leader extremly powerful. What does it mean to be united? We must all think the same? How does my life change when we become united?
We get things done because we work together for the common good.

We have a say in the direction of our government. This last presidency taught us that we cannot trust one person to make every decision, whether we agree with them or not. We must all participate in the dialogue and decide what's best for out country. We can be individuals within that system, but we can't get much done when everybody is going in two different directions.

It makes the people more powerful actually because the leader will depend on the country's citizens more than ever. Bush, for example, couldn't care less what you think of him or the way he governs. That mindset has proven to be very dangerous. What does it mean to be united? We must all think the same? How does my life change when we become united?
You are taking it too far. The US is a republic and majority rules, and minority rights. Being united means that even if your side loses the election, you feel that you are being represented.
Agreed
Thank you for speaking the Truth.......
';United'; in the context that you are using it, is all working towards the same goal - not blindly following an individual. We all ultimately want the same thing, and what needs to happen is everyone get over their ';what is best for me'; attitude and start working on what will benefit our nation the most.

We are currently in what appears to be a recession, we are in a very unpopular war that many don't feel is good for our nation, and our future is rather clouded. The oil companies, insurance companies and medical establishments keep getting richer, while the rest of America is only getting poorer. We have lost 17,000 jobs - which is HUGE - and it only looks bleak for the rest of the year. THAT is what the mentality of ';what is best for me'; has done.

Until everyone decides to stop the political bickering and start to work on the common good TOGETHER, we will continue down this road. And I don't know if there is necessarily a light at the end of this road.

So make your choice in November - but make it wisely. Because this is the person that is going to set the path for the next four years. I just hope it is the one that turns us around and starts us down a much better path.
YOU have to trust in your government to be UNITED.

There is precious little evidence for ME, that our government is trust worthy. They lie, cheat and steal from all of us daily. Wouldn't you agree. Look at illegal immigration. Look at how well the corporate markets/Wall St. has been policed. Look at how well education has been served. How we doing on Health Care? Our government SUCKS!

If you want to be united with this government/country ...it's because you have allowed YOURSELF to be SUCKED IN!

I think, in answer to your question, ironically Americans are becoming UNITED in their disgust for our government.

We all have to be pulling together to lift that log pole, the politicians are tied to (wearing tar and fears) ...as we run them out of town.
Don't worry ...Bush is almost out of the White house.
A leader should be powerful. We can unite as a majority on core issues like the economy, healthcare, and ending the war. That does not strip us of our individual freedoms. Yet we are individually strengthened we can unite to make life better for all, or most.
Coming from a communist country and me being a communist in my convictions, when I was much younger, I think you nailed it on the spot.

What politicians are saying today in USA, and the way people react (that's the scary part), does remind very much of the late communism (called socialism). Even the economic results began to remind of that. And when that kind of ruling class takes roots, there's only one way to remove it.
